On this episode, I discuss an article from last week in the Deseret News in which courses at some universities are now being developed to help students—not with their careers, but with basics such as deciding how to spend leisure time and asking people on dates. Yes, we have college-educated adults in this world who now don’t know how to do those things.
I also discuss this graph:
The drop-out rate is too high, some say, and they would like more parity among racial groups. But there is other information that such graphs leave out, which I highlight here.
These education topics are building toward an important video next week on how colleges could realign their priorities and better help students on career paths—a topic I’ve thought deeply about for the last year or so. Make sure to join me for that. Thanks for watching!
