On this episode, I refer to a recent article here on Substack about how LLMs have difficulty in crafting paragraphs. And good paragraphs are really important for readers to understand what we are writing. The source article can be found here.
However, the author (a fellow English professor) doesn’t quite go far enough in explaining how exactly paragraphs should be constructed. So, I’m here to help.
I lay out a method I’ve used with my college students for many years to help them improve their organization and structure—it’s simply called the 3 P’s. A video about this system is available here, and another article I wrote about it is here.
In pointing out the proper structure in the source article, I also give examples from my own writing here to show that I don’t just teach this stuff—I do it too.
Pass this episode along to anyone who needs help in guiding young writers. Thanks for watching!
